Window Tinting & Film

Security window film is a thick polyester laminate applied to the interior surface of existing glass. It holds glass fragments together on impact — whether from a break-in attempt, storm, or accident — preventing dangerous shards and slowing forced entry.
3M safety and security films range from 4 mil to 14 mil in thickness. Thicker films provide greater shatter resistance and are used for security and blast-mitigation applications. Our consultants recommend the right thickness based on your specific windows and risk profile.
Security film does not make glass unbreakable, but it holds fragments together and significantly slows forced entry — typically turning a 2-second smash-and-grab into a 2–3 minute struggle. Most opportunistic intruders abandon the attempt and move on.
The glass will still crack under sufficient force, but the film bonds the fragments into a cohesive layer — preventing dangerous shards from flying and reducing injury risk from accidents, storms, or break-in attempts.
Safety film (4–8 mil) is designed for accidental breakage — storms, impacts, injuries from broken glass. Security film (8–14 mil) is engineered specifically to resist deliberate forced entry, with greater tensile strength and frame attachment options. Our team recommends the right type based on your window locations and risk exposure.
Some 3M security films are dual-purpose — offering both impact resistance and solar control. Others are clear with minimal solar properties. We'll show you the full range at your estimate so you can choose based on your priorities.
Clear safety films are nearly invisible — most visitors won't know it's there. Some lightly tinted versions offer an additional solar control benefit while remaining visually unobtrusive.
Yes. 3M safety and security films can be applied to annealed, tempered, laminated, and dual-pane glass. Our team reviews your glass type before recommending a product to ensure compatibility.
Yes. Safety and security film holds glass intact during high-wind events, preventing the sudden pressure changes that occur when windows fail during a hurricane. Certain 3M films meet Miami-Dade impact codes for storm protection.
Yes. We provide professional security window film installation throughout Cedar Park and surrounding areas. Contact us for a free in-home estimate — we'll assess your windows, demonstrate the films in person, and give you a firm quote.
Switchable privacy film (also called PDLC film, electrochromic film, or electric window film) is a laminate applied to glass that switches between frosted/opaque and fully transparent at the press of a button, voice command, or app. Smart Tint® is one of the leading professional brands we install.
Switchable PDLC film contains liquid crystals suspended between two conductive layers. When power is off, the crystals are randomly scattered and the glass appears frosted. When a low-voltage current is applied, the crystals align instantly and the glass becomes completely clear — in under a second.
Switchable PDLC film cost depends on the total square footage of glass and the complexity of the wiring. It is more expensive per square foot than standard solar control film, but far less costly than replacing glass with purpose-built electrochromic panels. We provide free in-home estimates with line-by-line pricing so you know the exact cost before any work begins.
Functionally yes, but the installation approach differs. Purpose-built smart glass is manufactured with the switchable layer built in — it must replace your existing glass entirely. Switchable PDLC film retrofits your current glass, delivering the same clear-to-frosted switching at a significantly lower cost without any glass removal.
Yes. Our installations can be wired to integrate with Alexa, Google Home, Apple HomeKit, and most smart-home platforms via compatible smart switches or relay modules. You can control individual windows, zones, or your entire installation by voice or automation.
Yes. Switchable privacy film eliminates the need for blinds, shades, or curtains entirely — giving you instant, complete privacy without cords, mechanisms, dust-collecting slats, or anything to maintain. It also blocks UV radiation in both clear and frosted states, protecting furnishings from sun damage.
For a professional installer, no. The film is applied to existing glass using a wet application process, then wired to a low-voltage power supply connected to your chosen control method. Our certified team in Cedar Park handles the full installation — from film application through electrical wiring and smart-home pairing.
When power is off (including during an outage), switchable privacy film defaults to its frosted/opaque state — giving you passive privacy with zero power consumption. Transparency requires the powered state.
Yes — we install switchable privacy film and electric window film throughout Cedar Park and the surrounding area. Contact us for a free in-home consultation where we'll assess your glass, recommend the right product, and give you a firm quote.
Yes — in both the clear and frosted states, switchable PDLC film blocks the majority of UV radiation, protecting furniture, flooring, and artwork from sun-related fading and degradation.
No. Shades of Texas specializes exclusively in residential and commercial window film installation. We do not tint car, truck, or vehicle windows. For automotive tinting, we recommend contacting a local auto tint shop.
We install solar control films for heat and glare reduction, safety and security films for shatter resistance, decorative films for privacy or aesthetics, and ceramic films for maximum UV rejection without signal interference.
Home window tinting in Austin and Houston typically costs $8–$18 per square foot installed, depending on film type. A standard 2,000 sq ft home runs $1,200–$3,500. Solar control films start lower; ceramic and security films cost more. We provide a free, no-obligation in-home quote with exact pricing before any work begins.
Per-window cost depends on glass size and film type, but most standard residential windows range from $50–$150 per window for solar control film. Security and ceramic-grade films are priced higher. We'll give you a line-by-line quote at your free in-home estimate.
Most residential window tinting jobs are completed in a single day. A typical 2,000 sq ft home with 15–25 windows takes 4–6 hours. Larger homes or multi-story projects may require two days. We schedule around your calendar and work around your furniture.
No. Professionally installed window film will not damage your glass when matched correctly to your glass type. Our consultants assess whether you have single-pane, dual-pane (IGU), or low-e glass before recommending a product — avoiding the thermal stress that can theoretically occur when the wrong film is applied to the wrong glass.
Not necessarily. Modern tint films come in a wide range of visible light transmission levels — some are nearly clear while blocking up to 99% of UV rays. Our consultants help you select the right balance of light and performance, and we bring physical samples so you can see exactly what each film looks like on your glass.
Yes, significantly. 3M solar control films reject up to 79% of solar heat before it enters your home, which measurably reduces room temperatures — especially in south- and west-facing rooms. Many homeowners in Texas report their HVAC running noticeably less after installation, particularly through the summer months.
It depends on the film type. Solar control films offer daytime privacy since people outside cannot see in while the sun is up, but do not provide privacy at night when interior lights are on. Frosted and mirrored privacy films offer privacy day and night and are popular for bathrooms, offices, and sidelight panels.
Quality 3M window films are rated to last 10–15 years or more when properly installed. They come with manufacturer warranties against peeling, cracking, and fading. In Texas heat, professionally installed film consistently outlasts DIY alternatives by a wide margin.
Yes. Solar control window film blocks up to 79% of solar heat before it enters your home, significantly reducing air conditioning costs — especially during Texas summers. Most homeowners recoup the installation cost through energy savings within 3–5 years.
Yes, though certain high-reflective films must be avoided on IGUs (insulated glass units) to prevent thermal stress. Our team always reviews your glass type before recommending a product to ensure compatibility and protect your manufacturer's window warranty.
Yes. Window film can be professionally removed without damaging the glass. Most films are designed to be replaceable at end of life. If your needs or preferences change, we can remove the old film and install a different product.
Yes. We serve Cedar Park and all surrounding areas with professional home window film installation. We offer free in-home estimates — call our Cedar Park office or use the booking form on this page to schedule yours.
Yes — most Austin and Houston homeowners see a 20–30% reduction in cooling costs after installation. Window film typically pays back in 3–5 years through energy savings alone. It also blocks 99% of UV rays, protecting furniture, flooring, and art from fading year-round.
For Texas heat, ceramic window film offers the best performance — it blocks infrared heat without darkening your windows and doesn't interfere with Wi-Fi or cellular signals. 3M Prestige and Crystalline series are top choices. For a lower-cost option, standard dual-reflective solar film performs well on south- and west-facing windows.
Quality residential window film lasts 15–25 years with professional installation. Most manufacturers include a lifetime warranty for the original homeowner. Cheaper DIY films can bubble or peel within 5–7 years. Professionally installed 3M film carries a manufacturer-backed warranty we honor locally.
Commercial security window film is a thick polyester laminate applied to existing business glass — storefronts, office windows, school doors — that holds glass together on impact, slows forced entry, and reduces occupant injury risk from broken glass.
Yes. 3M security films are widely used on commercial glass doors and large storefront windows to deter smash-and-grab theft and reduce injury risk from accidental or deliberate breakage.
Yes. Security film is increasingly specified for schools as part of emergency preparedness planning. It prevents classroom door glass panels and corridor windows from being quickly defeated during a lockdown scenario, buying critical response time.
Many 3M films meet ANSI Z97.1 and CPSC 16 CFR 1201 standards for safety glazing. Our project team provides code documentation for permit and compliance submissions.
Blast-mitigation films are heavy-gauge security films (12–14 mil) tested to GSA, DoD, and FBI standards for resistance to explosive pressure waves. They are used in government buildings, financial institutions, and high-security commercial facilities.
Yes. Safety and security film bonds to any smooth glass surface including tempered, laminated, and annealed glass. It is commonly used on tempered commercial entry doors and storefront systems.
We schedule around your operations — after hours, on weekends, or in phases — to minimize disruption. A standard 5,000 sq ft office can typically be completed within 2–3 days. Retail installations are commonly done overnight.
Some 3M commercial security films include solar control properties that reduce heat gain and cut cooling costs. Dual-purpose films delivering both security and energy savings are available and are often the most cost-effective choice.
Yes. We serve commercial clients throughout Cedar Park and the surrounding area including offices, retail centers, schools, healthcare facilities, and multi-tenant buildings. Contact our commercial team for a site assessment and quote.
Solar control film is a thin, optically clear or lightly tinted coating applied to glass that reflects and absorbs solar infrared radiation, reducing heat gain, glare, and UV penetration in buildings.
High-performance solar films can reject up to 79% of total solar energy, significantly lowering cooling loads and improving occupant comfort near glass walls.
Yes. Solar control films reduce visible glare proportional to their visible light transmission rating. Films in the 15–35% VLT range provide the most noticeable glare reduction.
Potentially, yes. Solar film can contribute to LEED credits in the Energy & Atmosphere and Indoor Environmental Quality categories by improving energy performance and visual comfort.
Smart tint provides instant switchable privacy for conference rooms, glass offices, and storefronts — eliminating the need for blinds or curtains while maintaining an open feel when transparency is desired.
Yes. Switchable film can be wired to lighting control systems, occupancy sensors, scheduling timers, and AV room control systems for automated privacy management.
Absolutely — it is one of the most popular applications. Smart tint allows you to present to a board in full privacy and then instantly return the room to a bright, open appearance.
Smart tint consumes power only in its transparent (energized) state — typically around 5–7 watts per square meter. It is essentially off (and opaque) when power is cut.

Window Shades & Blinds

Real wood blinds offer a warm, natural look and are lighter in weight. Faux wood blinds use a composite material that resists humidity and warping, making them ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, and coastal climates.
Every blind we install is custom-measured and made to order for a precise, professional fit — no cutting or trimming required on-site.
Yes. Both wood and faux wood blinds are available with motorized tilt and lift systems, compatible with smart-home ecosystems like Alexa, Google Home, and Apple HomeKit. Ask us about motorized options during your free consultation.
Dust slats regularly with a feather duster or microfiber cloth. For deeper cleaning, wipe individual slats with a slightly damp cloth. Avoid soaking wood blinds in water.
We carry roller shades, cellular/honeycomb shades, Roman shades, and woven wood shades from Hunter Douglas® and Alta Window Fashions® — available in dozens of fabrics ranging from light-filtering sheers to full blackout.
Yes — all shade styles we carry are available with motorized lift systems, including battery-powered and hardwired options that integrate with smart-home platforms like Google Home and Amazon Alexa.

Yes. We install motorized commercial roller shades with Somfy smart integration for offices, hotels, restaurants, and retail spaces. Ask about our commercial services for bulk pricing.
We offer free in-home consultations where our team measures every window and helps you choose the right fit. Inside-mount and outside-mount options are both available.
For most fabric shades, a soft brush or light vacuuming works well for dust. Spot-clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid harsh chemicals that may damage the fabric coating.
Custom window shades in Austin and Houston cost $150–$800 per window installed, depending on style and fabric. Roller shades start around $150–$300. Roman shades run $250–$500. Motorized and smart-home shades start at $400 per window. Free in-home measurement and quote included.
For Texas heat, solar roller shades (3–14% openness factor) are the most popular choice — they block glare and reduce heat while keeping your view. Cellular honeycomb shades add insulation. For west-facing rooms with afternoon sun, a dual-layer shade with a solar and blackout option in one header gives you full control.
Yes. Our solid wood blinds are made from premium basswood, one of the lightest and most dimensionally stable hardwoods, providing a rich, warm appearance that is lighter than many alternatives.
Our wood blinds are available in 2" and 2.5" slat widths, with 2" being the most versatile for standard windows and 2.5" providing a bolder, more contemporary look for larger windows.
Yes. Because they are solid wood, our wood blinds accept a wide range of stains and painted finishes. We offer dozens of factory-applied color and stain options to match your décor.
Wood blinds can be used in bathrooms with adequate ventilation. For high-humidity environments like showers, we recommend faux wood blinds for better moisture resistance.
We install Somfy, Lutron QS Wireless, and manufacturer-integrated motors, including battery-operated tubular motors, hardwired AC systems, and solar-powered options for off-grid configurations.

Yes. Commercial motorized shades integrate with Lutron, Crestron, Savant, and Control4 platforms as well as standard BACnet/BAS systems. Shades can be scheduled, triggered by daylight sensors, or controlled via app. Automated shade systems reduce HVAC load and can contribute to LEED energy credits.
Yes — banded, zebra, roller, and transitional shades all refer to the same basic construction: alternating sheer and opaque fabric bands that roll on a tube. Different brands use different names for the same concept.
Standard banded shades are not blackout. When the opaque bands are fully aligned, they significantly reduce light, but some light still penetrates around the roller tube. For true blackout, we recommend a dedicated blackout roller shade or cellular shade.
Yes. Inside-mount banded shades look especially clean and architectural. The window frame needs at least 2" of depth for the roller mechanism. We measure precisely during your free consultation.
Modern faux wood blinds like Alta's composite line closely replicate the look of painted hardwood blinds. In most rooms, guests cannot easily distinguish them from real wood — especially in the popular white and off-white finishes.
Yes — composite materials are denser than basswood. This additional weight is actually beneficial: the slats hang straighter and hold tilt positions more firmly. For very wide windows, this extra weight is something to consider for lift mechanism load.
Yes. Alta offers faux wood blinds in several wood-tone finishes that simulate stained wood — oak, pecan, and walnut tones are available. Ask about our full color selection at your consultation.
According to the U.S. Department of Energy, cellular shades can reduce heat loss through windows by up to 40% in winter and reduce heat gain in summer. In Texas's hot climate, this translates to measurable air conditioning savings.
Double-cell shades have two layers of honeycomb cells, providing approximately twice the insulating value of single-cell. Triple-cell adds another layer for extreme climate performance. For most Texas homes, double-cell is the recommended choice.
Yes. Alta offers blackout fabric options in cellular shades for bedrooms, media rooms, and any space where complete light blockage is needed.
Natural fiber shades are best in climate-controlled rooms. We do not recommend them for bathrooms, laundry rooms, or any area with persistent high humidity — moisture can cause natural fibers to mold, warp, or discolor.
Without a liner, natural woven shades are semi-transparent — light and silhouettes will show through at night when interior lights are on. For daytime privacy in a ground-floor room or nighttime privacy, we strongly recommend adding a fabric liner.
Yes. Alta natural woven shades can be motorized with battery or hardwired Somfy motors. Motorization is particularly convenient for high or hard-to-reach windows.
Yes. Alta Window Fashions is widely specified for commercial and hospitality projects. We install Alta roller shades in offices, restaurants, hotels, and medical facilities throughout the area.
Alta shades work with Somfy, Lutron RadioRA, Crestron, Control4, and most Z-Wave smart-home hubs. We can integrate roller shades into an existing smart-home system or design a new automated system.
Specialty hardware allows roller shade installation on sloped or horizontal skylight openings. Ask us about skylight shading solutions during your in-home consultation.
Alta Sheer Shadings and Hunter Douglas Silhouette® are very similar products — both use soft vanes between sheer backing panels. The primary differences are brand, hardware system, and available fabric colorways. We carry both so you can compare during your consultation.
Yes. Alta sheer shadings can be fabricated in wide formats to cover large windows or multi-panel openings. For very wide spans, we may recommend two shades on a shared headrail for structural stability.
Absolutely. Sheer shadings are popular in office and commercial environments where glare reduction and maintaining outside views are both important — common in executive offices, lounges, and conference rooms.
Real wood blinds perform well in temperature-controlled rooms. In direct intense heat — such as a south-facing window without any shade cover — the wood can weaken over many years. For south or west-facing windows we may recommend faux wood for longevity.
Wood blinds can be fabricated for most rectangular window shapes. For arched or angled windows, plantation shutters are often a better fit — we can walk you through both options.
Solar screen fabrics block UV rays and reduce heat gain while maintaining an outward view. A 3% openness factor lets in less light (more privacy and heat rejection) while a 10% factor lets in more light with less privacy. We recommend 3–5% for Texas sun.
Yes. Inside-mount roller shades give a clean, architectural look. Your window frame needs to have at least 2" of depth for the bracket. We measure every window during the free consultation.
Light vacuuming with the brush attachment removes dust. For spots, blot gently with a damp cloth — do not scrub. Most solar screen fabrics are moisture-resistant.
More cells mean more air pockets and greater insulation. Single-cell is great for mild climates; double-cell suits most Texas homes; triple-cell and Architella® quad-cell deliver maximum energy savings for extreme temperatures.
Yes. Hunter Douglas offers Duette® shades for skylights, arched windows, and other specialty shapes with custom fabrication.
New purchases can be optioned with PowerView® motorization from the factory. Retromotorization is available for some existing Hunter Douglas shades — ask us about upgrading.
Modern faux wood blinds like EverWood® closely mimic real wood grain and finish. Most guests can't tell the difference. The main trade-off is the slightly heavier feel, which actually improves how the slats hang.
We don't recommend any blind inside a shower enclosure where it would be directly splashed with water. However, EverWood® is an excellent choice for windows adjacent to a bath or shower where steam is the main concern.
Yes. Hunter Douglas offers a lifetime guarantee on EverWood® blinds covering defects in materials and workmanship. Our installation warranty covers the hardware and mounting.
Luminette® is specifically designed for sliding glass doors and large windows. The traverse system slides smoothly so you can open the door without fighting with your window treatment.
When the vanes are closed, Luminette® provides good daytime privacy. For nighttime blackout, we recommend pairing with a blackout roller shade or choosing the room-darkening fabric option.
Luminette® panels can cover openings up to 192" wide using a two-way traverse system. We can design a solution for almost any large opening.
In rooms with frequent humidity or moisture exposure, we recommend EverWood® faux wood blinds instead. Real wood can absorb moisture and warp over time in high-humidity environments.
2" slats are the classic choice — versatile for most window sizes. The wider 2½" slat has a bolder, more contemporary look and works especially well on large windows where the extra scale is proportional.
Absolutely. Layering wood blinds with soft drapes or valances is a classic combination. We work with local workrooms to provide full window treatment solutions.
Silhouette® has vanes suspended between two sheer panels; Pirouette® attaches vanes to a single sheer backing. Pirouette gives a slightly lighter, simpler look while Silhouette has more visible depth and dimension.
Pirouette® is primarily a light-filtering shade. For blackout performance, we recommend Duette® Honeycomb Shades or a Roller Shade with blackout fabric. We can help you choose the right fit.
Light dusting with a soft brush or gentle vacuuming keeps them fresh. For spot cleaning, use a damp cloth with mild soap and allow to air dry — do not immerse in water.
Natural fiber shades perform best in climate-controlled rooms. Avoid placement in bathrooms, laundry rooms, or any area with persistent high humidity, as moisture can cause natural fibers to warp or mold over time.
Woven shades by themselves are semi-private — light and silhouettes can show through the weave at night. Adding a fabric liner or using them with a layered window treatment provides full privacy.
Yes. PowerView® motorization is available on most Provenance® shades, allowing you to raise, lower, and schedule them from an app, remote, or voice assistant.
Silhouette® shades have floating S-shaped vanes between two sheer fabric layers. This creates a soft, three-dimensional look and allows you to diffuse light and control privacy in ways a flat roller shade cannot.
When the vanes are open, the front sheer panel allows a view outside while softening daylight. Tilting the vanes closed provides daytime privacy while still admitting soft diffused light.
Standard Silhouette® shades are light-filtering. For room darkening, Hunter Douglas offers the Silhouette® Nantucket shade and various liner options — ask us about blackout alternatives in this style.
Standard Roman shades have horizontal rods or dowels on the back that show through the fabric. Vignette's patented construction uses a series of stiffened fabric pockets that create clean, consistent folds without visible hardware on the back.
Yes. Vignette® can be fabricated in widths up to 96". For very wide openings, we can pair two shades on a single headrail for a seamless look.
Absolutely. The LiteRise® cordless system is completely cord-free and meets all child safety standards. Motorized PowerView® models are also cord-free.

Window Shutters

Shutters offer a built-in, permanent look with strong resale value. Blinds are more affordable and flexible, with a wider range of opacities. Your choice depends on budget, style, and how often you adjust window coverings.
Yes. Both products are measured and fabricated to order for your exact window dimensions, ensuring a clean, professional fit.
Both are straightforward to maintain. Shutters wipe clean with a damp cloth; blinds can be dusted by closing slats flat and wiping in one direction. Composite shutters and faux wood blinds resist moisture better than wood options.
Absolutely. Many homeowners use shutters in main living areas for a showcase look and blinds in bedrooms or secondary rooms for a budget-friendly but cohesive appearance.
Plantation shutters are solid interior window coverings with wide horizontal louvers mounted in a sturdy frame. They provide excellent light control, privacy, and ventilation while adding architectural character to your home.
We offer solid hardwood shutters (Hunter Douglas Heritance®), moisture-resistant composite shutters (Hunter Douglas NewStyle®), and aluminum shutters for exterior or commercial applications.
Shutters are a permanent, structured window covering that adds resale value and a built-in look. They offer superior durability, air-flow control, and light management compared to most blinds or shades.
Interior shutters are considered a home improvement and can increase appraisal value. They are often highlighted in real-estate listings as a premium feature.
Our wood shutters are crafted from premium North American basswood — prized for its light weight, straight grain, and dimensional stability, which keeps louvers and frames true over time.
Yes. Our wood shutters are available with an integrated rechargeable battery motorization system that tilts louvers automatically — operated via remote, wall switch, or smart-home app with no visible wires.
Wood shutters are lighter, more visually refined, and carry a superior appearance. Vinyl shutters can be heavier and are more prone to sagging on wide panels. Our wood shutters are a premium product designed to last decades.
Quality wood shutters use kiln-dried hardwood and precision engineering to minimize movement. In very humid climates, we typically recommend composite or vinyl shutters for maximum long-term stability.
Woodlore® uses a patented poly-resin composite that replicates the look and texture of natural wood while being completely unaffected by moisture, UV exposure, or temperature fluctuations.
Yes. Woodlore® composite shutters are 100% waterproof and will not warp, crack, or peel — making them the ideal choice for bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, and coastal homes.

Yes. We offer project pricing, standardized specifications, and phased installation for commercial shutter installations across offices, hotels, and multi-unit properties.
Composite shutters are moisture-resistant and ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry rooms. Hardwood shutters offer authentic grain character and can be stained. For most rooms either works well — for humid rooms, always choose composite.
2½" louvers are classic and work well on standard windows. 3½" is the most popular choice — a great balance of view and style. 4½" is dramatic and best suited to large windows or a modern design where the bold scale is intentional.
After the in-home measurement and order placement, custom shutters typically arrive in 4–6 weeks. Our team schedules installation immediately upon arrival of your order.
Heritance® is available in 2½", 3½", and 4½" louver sizes. The 3½" is the most popular, balancing view and light control. The 4½" TruView™ louver is ideal for large windows.
In bathrooms with normal ventilation, Heritance® hardwood shutters perform well. For steam showers or very high-humidity environments, we recommend NewStyle® Hybrid composite shutters for longer-term durability.
Heritance® is a true premium hardwood — lighter weight, more authentic grain, and available in stain finishes. Composite shutters are better for humid environments and often less expensive, but lack the genuine wood character of Heritance®.
No. The composite surface is smooth and uniform — they look and photograph like painted hardwood shutters. The difference becomes apparent if you look very closely at the texture, but in normal use they're indistinguishable.
For sliding glass doors, we use a bypass track system where the shutter panels slide left and right on a rail — exactly like a sliding door. This lets you access the door fully without swinging panels into the room.
NewStyle® composite shutters are generally more affordable than Heritance® hardwood. For many applications — especially kitchens and baths — composite is the practical choice.
Alta offers a very competitive product at a slightly lower price point. The construction quality is excellent for commercial applications. For budget-conscious projects covering many windows, Alta is an outstanding choice.

Absolutely. The moisture-resistant composite won't warp from kitchen humidity, food splashes wipe off cleanly, and the smooth surface doesn't absorb odors like fabric treatments would.
Yes — for occupied commercial spaces, we coordinate phased installation by wing, floor, or area so your business stays operational throughout the project.
Palm Beach™ is solid polysatin vinyl — completely waterproof and UV-proof. Composite shutters like NewStyle® are a wood-polymer blend that looks slightly more like real wood but isn't as resistant to extreme moisture. For commercial wet environments, Palm Beach™ is the superior choice.
Yes. The non-porous polysatin surface can be cleaned and disinfected easily, doesn't harbor bacteria or allergens, and withstands the harsh cleaning chemicals used in medical environments.

Security & Storm Shutters

Security shutters are specifically engineered with reinforced curtain profiles and locking mechanisms designed to resist forced entry, whereas storm shutters are optimized for wind and impact resistance.
Yes. Motorized security shutters can be integrated with alarm systems so that any forced opening or tampering triggers an alert. Position sensors confirm the shutter is fully closed and locked.
Absolutely. Rollok security shutters are available in residential-grade profiles that provide strong security without the industrial look — often used on garages, ground-floor windows, and entry doors.
Security shutter curtains are made from extruded aluminum profiles in various configurations — from solid slats to perforated or vision profiles that allow airflow and limited visibility when closed.
Rollok rolling storm shutters carry Florida Product Approval ratings and are engineered to withstand design wind speeds required for hurricane protection in high-velocity hurricane zones (HVHZ).
Yes. Rollok shutters meet large and small missile impact testing requirements, providing protection against flying debris during severe storms.
Motorized Rollok systems can be fully closed in seconds at the push of a button. Manual crank versions take only a few minutes per opening, and all shutters remain permanently in place — ready to deploy at any time.
Minimal maintenance is required. We recommend lubricating the guides and bottom track annually and hosing down the curtain to remove salt and debris, especially in coastal locations.
Rollok shutters are engineered and tested to meet Florida Product Approval standards, withstanding high wind speeds and flying debris impacts required for hurricane protection.
Yes — when closed, Rollok rolling shutters create a solid steel or aluminum barrier that acts as a strong deterrent against forced entry, in addition to storm protection.
Rollok systems are permanently installed with a compact roll-up housing above the opening. They are always in place and can be deployed in seconds — no storage or setup required.
Many Florida homeowners see reduced wind coverage premiums after installing impact-rated shutters. We recommend checking with your insurance provider; we can provide documentation for approved products.

Yes. Motorized retractable awnings use a 110V or battery motor with remote, wall switch, or smartphone app control. Smart models integrate with Alexa, Google Home, and Apple HomeKit. Wind sensors automatically retract the awning during gusts, preventing storm damage without any manual intervention.
Measure your patio width and the depth you want shaded. Most residential awnings range 8–20 ft wide with a 7–14 ft projection. We recommend sizing to cover at least 80% of your seating area. Our team measures on-site and can fabricate custom sizes — no standard sizes, every awning is built to your exact dimensions.
We install sail shades, shade sails on tension posts, pergola covers, and attached patio shade canopies in HDPE fabric or waterproof materials tailored to your outdoor space.
Both options are available. Tensioned sail shades and hardware-mounted structures are permanent installations, while some canopy systems can be removed seasonally.
HDPE shade sail fabric resists UV degradation and mildew. Rinse periodically with water; for deeper cleaning, use a soft brush with a mild soap solution and allow to air dry.
Our installed shade structures use properly tensioned hardware engineered for the wind loads common in your area. Extremely high winds may require temporary removal of loose sail shades.
Commercial screens are engineered for larger spans, heavier foot traffic, and greater wind exposure. We use heavier-gauge hardware, industrial-grade fabrics, and motorized systems rated for continuous commercial use.
We use high-tensile woven polyester or fiberglass mesh fabrics with UV and flame-retardant treatments, suitable for restaurant patios, hotel terraces, and event spaces.
Custom printed fabrics with logos or brand colors are available for retractable screens and awnings used in commercial hospitality and retail environments.
Commercial systems use heavy-duty guide cables, bottom bars with ballast, and optional locking bottom channels to maintain screen tension and stability in wind conditions.
Commercial awning systems are available up to 40+ feet wide and 14 feet in projection using coupled motorized cassette systems. Custom configurations are available for large restaurant, hotel, and retail facades.
Yes. We offer custom-printed awning fabrics with full-color graphics, making them a powerful branding tool for storefronts and outdoor dining areas.
Commercial awning fabrics are solution-dyed acrylic or polyester with waterproof coatings — designed to resist UV bleaching and shed rain effectively when pitched at the correct angle.
This varies by municipality. We assist clients with permit documentation; in most jurisdictions, awnings attached to a building facade require a permit and may have size restrictions.
We use HDPE (high-density polyethylene) knitted fabric for shade sails — UV-stabilized, breathable, and rated to block 90–97% of harmful UV radiation. Framework uses powder-coated steel or aluminum posts and hardware.
In most municipalities, permanent shade structures attached to the ground or building require a permit. We assist with permit drawings, engineering letters, and code compliance documentation.
Posts are typically set in concrete footings engineered to the local wind load requirements. Existing building walls or rooflines can also serve as attachment points where structurally appropriate.
Yes. Shade fabric has a typical lifespan of 8–12 years. The hardware and posts last much longer — fabric-only replacement keeps costs low and allows color refreshes.

Glass, Windows & Doors

If your window frame is structurally sound and the issue is fogging, cracking, or a broken pane, glass-only replacement is almost always sufficient — and far more affordable than replacing the entire unit. We assess this during your free estimate.
Fogging between double or triple panes means the IGU (insulated glass unit) seal has failed, allowing moisture into the sealed cavity. Wiping the glass won't help — the only fix is replacing the glass unit itself, which we do inside your existing frame.
Most single-pane replacements are completed the same day. IGU replacements typically require the new glass to be ordered, so turnaround is 3–7 business days from measurement to installation.
Yes. We source replacement glass for all major brands including Pella, Andersen, Milgard, Jeld-Wen, and more — factory-spec dimensions for a perfect fit.
No. Our technicians carefully remove the glazing bead or stop to extract the old glass without affecting the frame, sash, or surrounding finish.
Absolutely. Glass replacement is the ideal time to upgrade to Low-E argon-filled glass for better heat rejection and insulation. Our team will walk you through the options during your estimate.
Pella offers entry doors, patio doors, French doors, and sliding glass doors in fiberglass, wood, and clad-wood construction — available in hundreds of style, glass, and finish combinations.
Yes. Many Pella door products carry ENERGY STAR® certification with multi-point locking, weatherstripping, and insulated glass options that significantly reduce air infiltration and energy loss.
A standard single entry door replacement is typically completed in half a day. Larger patio and French door systems may take a full day. Our team handles removal, installation, and finishing trim.
Yes. Pella manufactures doors to custom widths and heights, making them suitable for both standard and non-standard openings in new construction or remodel projects.
We use professional-grade squeegees, eco-friendly cleaning solutions, and pure-water fed poles for exterior windows — leaving streak-free results without harsh chemicals.
For most homes, a professional cleaning every 3–6 months keeps windows clear and extends the life of seals and glass coatings. High-traffic or dusty environments benefit from more frequent service.
Yes. We use ammonia-free, film-safe cleaning solutions so that any tint, solar, or decorative film on your windows will not be affected.
Absolutely. We use extension poles, water-fed equipment, and ladders to safely clean windows at any height on residential properties.
A panel is one contiguous piece of glass. Most windows that open are 2 panels. Price is per panel with a minimum charge per visit — see our packages above for full details.
Pella offers double-hung, casement, awning, sliding, bay, bow, picture, and specialty-shaped windows in fiberglass, aluminum-clad wood, and wood interior options.
Yes. Pella windows are available with Low-E coatings, argon gas fill, and triple-pane glass configurations that meet or exceed ENERGY STAR® requirements for all U.S. climate zones.

Pella offers insert replacement windows that fit into existing frames and full-frame replacement options — both suitable for older homes. They also offer wood-interior options that match historical aesthetics.

Commercial Glazing & Storefront

Architectural glazing refers to glass systems used in building envelopes — including storefronts, curtain walls, skylights, glass partitions, and window walls — that are both structural and aesthetic.
We work with monolithic glass, insulated glass units (IGUs), laminated safety glass, spandrel glass, and specialty coated glass (low-e, solar control, reflective) for commercial projects.
Window film is the most common method for upgrading existing glass. For structural glazing upgrades, we assess your existing framing and may recommend replacing the glass unit within the current frame.
Yes. Modern low-e coatings and insulated glazing units can dramatically reduce HVAC loads and qualify for commercial energy efficiency incentives.
Storefront systems are ground-supported framing typically used for single-story or low-rise applications. Curtain wall systems are floor-to-floor hung off the building structure and are used for multi-story facades with larger glass spans.
Yes. We offer thermally broken aluminum storefront profiles that significantly reduce heat transfer through the frame — improving energy performance and reducing condensation in cooler climates.
We work with monolithic tempered, insulated glass units (IGUs), laminated safety glass, spandrel glass, and specialty coated glass including low-e and solar control options to meet your energy code requirements.
Yes. Our commercial project team manages the permit process including shop drawings, product approvals, and coordination with the building department from submittal through final inspection.
