Hunter Douglas window fashion products are covered for defects in materials, workmanship, or failure to operate for as long as the original retail purchaser owns the product.

What's Covered

All internal mechanisms, components, and brackets. Fabric delamination. Operational cords for 7 years from date of purchase. Motorization components for 5 years from date of purchase. Repairs and replacements will be made with like or similar parts or products.

Truemill® Dovetail Construction

Hunter Douglas's proprietary Truemill® method produces precision dovetail joints on every frame corner — creating a mechanically interlocked structure that stays square and rigid for the lifetime of the shutter.

TruView™ Wide Louvers

The 4½" louver is the widest available on any Hunter Douglas shutter — providing an expansive, unobstructed view when open without looking oversized on the window.

Hidden Tilt Bar Option

Traditional front tilt rods are replaced with a concealed mechanism that tilts all louvers simultaneously while keeping the face of the shutter completely clean.

Motorized Louver Option

Hunter Douglas offers motorized louver tilt for Heritance® — tilt all panels from a remote or integrate with your smart-home system.

Heritance® Shutters FAQ

Heritance® is available in 2½", 3½", and 4½" louver sizes. The 3½" is the most popular, balancing view and light control. The 4½" TruView™ louver is ideal for large windows.

In bathrooms with normal ventilation, Heritance® hardwood shutters perform well. For steam showers or very high-humidity environments, we recommend NewStyle® Hybrid composite shutters for longer-term durability.

Heritance® is a true premium hardwood — lighter weight, more authentic grain, and available in stain finishes. Composite shutters are better for humid environments and often less expensive, but lack the genuine wood character of Heritance®.
